Vegan Afternoon Tea at The Langham

I absolutely love afternoon tea, so I was super excited when Matt surprised me on Valentine’s Day with afternoon tea at the Palm Court restaurant in The Langham Hotel.

We’ve been super busy with moving house so it’s taken me a little while (like 2 months!!) to get this post out to you guys but I’m really excited to tell you all about it as it was such a special experience.

The Palm Court restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is creative and delicious; so although it is one of the more expensive vegan afternoon teas in London, it was definitely worth a visit for a special treat.

TEAS ▷▷

There was an extensive selection of teas, including lots of fruit and herbal teas. During the course of the meal, we tried lots of them including the mint tea which was my favourite.

SANDWICHES ▷▷

The bread that Palm Court uses isn’t vegan, so the chef creatively used waffle cones and popadoms to serve the sandwich fillings on. The fillings included a delicious falafel style chickpea pâté, hummus, cucumber, avocado, and tomato – all of which complemented each other perfectly. Although it was certainly an untraditional sandwich course, everything tasted amazing, so amazing in fact that we had 3 rounds of ‘sandwiches’!

SCONES ▷▷

The perfectly fluffy warm scones were served with sunflower spread and jam. They were so light, creamy and delicious and were my favourite part of the meal (of course, we had several rounds of this course too)!

CAKES ▷▷

The final course was a beautiful selection of Valentine’s Day themed cakes including: a chocolate cake, meringues, and my favourite: a fruit jelly.

The elegant atmosphere in the restaurant coupled with the delicious and creative food made for an incredible experience. If you’d like to visit the Palm Court for vegan afternoon tea, you can find out more about it here.

Vegan afternoon tea at La Suite West

As a belated birthday treat, my lovely friend Maria surprised me with…

▹▸▹▸ VEGAN AFTERNOON TEA AT LA SUITE WEST

I have always absolutely loved afternoon tea. There’s just something about the tiny little sandwiches that make them taste so much better than regular sandwiches. And the scones, oh the scones. Then, no matter how full you are, there’s always room for delicious, bite-sized cakes because who doesn’t love cake?!

Since going vegan, this was the first time I’ve had an afternoon tea that wasn’t home-made, so to say I was excited would be an understatement and this afternoon tea definitely did not disappoint.

▹▸▹▸ SANDWICHES

The selection of sandwiches was absolutely delicious. There was such a unique mix of flavours which made for a lovely twist on traditional afternoon tea sandwiches. My favourite was definitely the kimichi coleslaw with red pepper, whilst Maria unsurprisingly loved the summer herb pesto with tomatoes. I say unsurprisingly as she has a serious pesto addiction, we’re talking pesto pizza with pesto pasta for dinner on a pretty regular basis at uni (which I may or may not have participated in)!

▹▸▹▸ SCONES

The scones were hands down the best scones I have ever eaten in my entire life, bar none! The combination of warm scones, coconut cream and strawberries was just heavenly!

▹▸▹▸ CAKES

Even though we were both completely stuffed by the time the cakes were served, we of course managed to squeeze them all in, because I mean, look how yummy!!!

All three courses were absolute perfection and I will definitely be returning to La Suite West for more delicious afternoon tea ASAP.
