In the four years that I have been studying at the University of Exeter, I must have walked past The New Horizon Cafe countless times but had never given it a second glance. However, a couple of weeks ago, a sign saying ‘most of our dishes are vegetarian or vegan‘ caught my eye, and I decided I had to check it out. Two weeks later and it is safe to say I am now a regular.
Their menu is filled with a range of delicious Mediterranean food which is available to eat in or to takeaway. My favourite dish is the Mèze plate, as it is the perfect combination of flavours.
The falafel pita is also amazing, especially for those days where you fancy your lunch on-the-go. The falafels are cooked to perfection and the pita is stuffed full of salad and seasoned with a delicious mixture of sauces.
The Cafe’s relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes it the perfect chill out spot. This is definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Exeter and I can’t recommend it enough.
